Sing to reduce stress, quiet your mind, open your voice, and express your heart and soul!
This workshop will introduce you to calming and healing vocal practices such as vocal toning, circle-singing, singing meditation, and relaxing songs.
These are based on creative expression and mindful sounding, so no experience is required, and absolutely anyone can enjoy the benefits.
WHY SING FOR SELF-CARE?
Singing is a fun and relaxing way to release stress. As well as being enjoyable and uplifting, singing offers a way to calm your nervous system, quiet your mind, gently express emotions, and foster wellness and vitality.
Singing is not reserved only for people with “talent!” We are all born with the ability to make music and to use our voices for healing and joyful living. Your voice just needs to be cultivated in a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Scientific research shows singing can:
Reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.
Increase well-being, tranquility, energy and inner peace.
Slow heart rate and reduce blood pressure.
Reduce pain and increase brain health and longevity.
Help us feel more grounded, present and integrated.
Foster a deeper connection with self, community and nature.
Facilitated by Heidi McCurdy, singer, songwriter, sound healer, voice coach and Expressive Arts Therapist.
